Do you wish to take your dog’s tracking, and your own handling and reading skills to the next
level regardless of your current level?

Who is the for?
Pet owners, dog sport enthusiasts, pet or dog sports trainers and other dog professionals –
particularly law enforcement, search & rescue, service dog work or scent detection.

This course is a continuation of HITT Day 1 (pre-requisite – Day 1)

What will you learn?
A systematic, easy-to-follow approach for building tracking skills and maximising your dog’s
chances of success by tailoring exercises to your dog’s level or preparedness.

Focus on correctly assessing baseline tracking and article indication performance and developing
training plans based on that information.

Live demonstrations of developing the core skills required to teach reliable article indication.

Working attendees will participate in hands-on exercises as you begin to build these skills for
yourself and your dog.

This workshop will also focus in incorporating HITT as a skill-building and remediation tools for
those who have already taught their dogs to track using other methods.

You will also participate in live video facilitated demos of how to build a Scentwork Indicator
Database for scenting and tracking dogs.

How will the workshop be conducted?
This session will contain a mix of participants’ hands-on exercises, lecture augmented with video
and slides and live demonstration.

Working places
There are a total of 15 working places and 40 observer positions.

How do I secure a working spot?
HITT Day 2 can only be purchased if your are approved for and attend HITT Day 1.

Criteria needed –

  • Dogs need to be crated and a crate cover is advised.
  • Reactive dogs must be managed at all times.
  • Must have basic level of training.
  • Dog need to have at least 1 stationary behaviour (ie: sit, down, stand)
  • Must be able to walk on a loose lead.
  • Recall.
  • Name recognition.

Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea included.
